These are our 4U storage arrays with built-in SAS expander backplane, 24, 36 or 45 hotswap SAS/SATA drive bays, redundant power supply, one or two external SAS cables (SFF-8088 to SFF-8088), and two or four SFF-8088 external SAS input/output ports.

Half of the SFF-8088 external SAS ports connects to a host such as our Storage Server systems or another upstream Storage Array in a daisy-chain configuration, and the other SFF-8088 external SAS ports can connect to a downstream Storage Array.

Multiple Storage Arrays can be daisy-chained up to the limit of the number of SAS/SATA devices supported by the host SAS/SATA RAID controller.

The SC846E comes with two external SAS ports and one external cables, while the SC847E cases come with four external SAS ports and two external SAS cables.

Please note the drives in the Storage Array must be all SAS, or all SATA.
